Parmenides was the founder of Western Civilization. He more than any other is guaranteed that epitaph.
When you study him and his contemporaries, those that came before Plato and Aristotle, who were far less men, in terms of their contribution to understanding. They bastardized the wisdom of Parmenides. They simply misunderstood it but the consequences of their misunderstanding reverberate through time until one sees through their folly inwardly.
Then the signature of Parmenides brilliant vision is amplified and it accelerates. This, most certainly, is a good thing.
