The word “electricity” comes from Ancient Greek. I don’t know if it was the first chronicling of electromagnetic forces but the root of the word is:
Greek ēlektron – because rubbing amber causes electrostatic phenomena.
As with the root of the word “heaven” in old German – which means the “place of clouds,” the root of all these very significant words is nature and, quite specifically, our enthrallment with deciphering her mystery, through observation and dedication and deduction, reason and intuition, and, I have always sensed this, any natural scientist or philosopher worth their salt comes to know this, because she wants to reveal herself to man.
