My father is a River Pilot. Being the son of a pilot you learn that a vessel on the sea is faced with the most forces of resistance. Water, wind, and air. More than any other medium we travel in.
This Airplane Pilot is faced with a challenging situation. He has no power, no thrust in his engines, but he has momentum. He’s piloting a runaway train in the sky. He must make a split second decision and he does. He lands his vehicle, one designed for flight, on the river, safely.
You can trace that successful landing back to man’s long study of the fundamental laws of physics. With the right application of the right knowledge you can turn a potential catastrophe into a great celebration.
