Tesla says fish do not swim. They are swam.
I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.
To her fair works did nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.
D H Lawrence wrote: Ah what has man done to man? What have the leaders of men been doing to their fellow men? They have reduced them to less than humanness; and now there can be no fellowship any more! It is just a nightmare.
D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley’s Lover
That’s just utter nonsense. A total lie. Utter hubris. No substance. Fellowship is very real. It is the most real thing.
What Wordsworth wrote cannot be refuted. It is lamentable what man has made of man, what man has made of nature, and what that reflects about his own belief in a tortured nature.
But that belief is unfounded and can be undone by the mind that has broken free of its own clever deceptions.
Viruses do not hijack a body. They are strands of life hijacked by the impacts of our intolerance. complacency and ignorance.
We can turn all of that around. We can uproot the scourge of our inhumanity from this earth, by slowing down and bearing witness to what matters.
We may remove the mask of our defiant tired lies and, in so doing, salvage our dignity and that of the wildlife that share this miraculous earth. It is their home as much as its ours.
And we would be as incomplete without them as they are without the harmony of our healed presence.
